Our newsletters will be sent in German.
Each journey begins gently, with a grounding start, gradually builds into dynamic, high-energy rhythms, and closes with a deeply calming integration.
The music is an eclectic mix that depends on the DJ, ranging from classical and world sounds to afro beats, tribal rhythms, Latin grooves, house, and organic techno.
Our events are drug-, alcohol-, and substance-free, making it a safe and conscious space where everyone is welcome.
Ecstatic Dance is a moving mindfulness practice. As you dance, you might notice your thoughts (e.g. comparing, judging, doubting), or you may feel waves of joy, grief, or deep stillness. Whatever comes up, the key is to allow it, feel it, and let it move through you. Your body is a vessel that carries emotions and tension. This practice helps you clear that vessel - body, mind, and heart.

ABOUT US

I'm Martina Fink, Holistic Health Coach (2017 IIN®), Ecstatic Dance DJ, and passionate music and dance lover. Born to professional musicians, music has been a part of my life ever since I was born.
When I was 14, I put together a dance crew with three friends, and organized a variety of shows for us. As I got older, life got busier and I no longer took the time for dance classes or music - which naturally also removed some level of joy from my life.
In 2021, I discovered Ecstatic Dance in Bali and loved how free, connected, and light it made me feel. I noticed how so much joy started arising in me as I was able to release overwhelm, stress, and perfectionism from my energetic body.
Since 2024, I organize regular Ecstatic Dance events in Winterthur (Switzerland).
+ Open to everyone who loves to dance, regardless of age, background, body, or belief
+ A diverse community of like-minded humans
+ Additional special events for holistic health and wellbeing
No talking: If you need to chat, please step outside.
No phones: Leave your phone in the bag. No photos or videos.
Consent: To dance with someone, seek clear consent (eye contact or a nod). Respect their choice and don't take it personal.
No substances: Ecstatic Dance is alcohol- and drug-free. Our outdoor events are also smoke-free.
In many cultures, dance has always been an essential part of traditions and rituals, a way to connect with spirit, celebrate life, express gratitude, and strengthen community.
Over time, many cultures have lost these practices through colonization, social and religious change, industrialization, and urbanization, leading to more isolated lifestyles. Ecstatic Dance brings back this sense of connection by creating a safe space to move, celebrate, heal, and express yourself, without judgment or “right” or “wrong” ways to dance.
The goal of this practice is presence. You leave your worries, stress, and to-do lists at the door. We dance sober to consciously cultivate awareness in body and mind. This way, everyone stays fully present, in touch with themselves, and in safe contact with others. Through music and movement, you shake off what feels heavy and return to yourself, feeling grounded, free, and alive.
We are in the building process of our events, and are always open to collaborating with other artists to add a variety of facilitation and different music styles to our events.
If you are a musician, DJ, or experienced facilitator with experience in Ecstatic Dance, and would like to support us, we’d love to get to know you!

Ecstatic Dance is for anyone who loves music and wants a mindful movement practice, regardless of age, background, body, or belief. No experience required.
Please bring a water bottle to stay hydrated, and wear comfortable clothes that you can easily move and sweat in. Kindly refrain from using strong perfumes, and take care of your personal hygiene.
Ecstatic Dance is not tied to any religion or belief system. People of diverse cultures and faiths have always danced. You don't need any spiritual belief to participate.
No, Ecstatic Dance is not a party. It’s a conscious movement practice and an active meditation. Unlike parties, there are no drugs, no alcohol, no small talk, and no performance. Instead, you’ll find a safe, mindful space to connect with your body through music and authentic movement guided by intention.
Rosengartenpark: There are no changing rooms available in the park.
Osttor: There are changing rooms available.
Altes Stadthaus: There are no changing rooms available. Feel free to change in the bathroom, or inside our dance space.
That's completely normal. Most people feel a little nervous the first time they try something new. Ecstatic Dance is not about performance. No one will be watching or judging you, and you can't do anything "wrong". Just come as you are.
You choose your own experience based on what your body needs. You can sit down at any time, leave the room, and come back in whenever feels right for you. There's no pressure to dance the whole time.
Osttor is wheelchair accessible via a ramp. You are welcome to dance seated, standing, or with limited movement. Please get in touch with us, so we can make sure the space works for you.
The light in the room is slightly dimmed with warm colors and candles. There is an emergency exit door that opens directly to the park. There are no strobe lights.
Ecstatic Dance is a non-verbal practice, and language is not a barrier on the dance floor. The opening guidance is kept to a minimum and can be given in German and English if needed.
Money shouldn't be a reason to exclude people. We offer a reduced price for students and individuals with low income. If this still doesn't work for you, please reach out, and we will send you a custom pay-what-you-can link.
Due to the nature of events, no refunds are available. All sales are final. You can find our terms & conditions here.
